Information regarding the new coronavirus and covid-19

There are many questions from people with rheumatic diseases regarding the coronavirus and covid-19. Below you will find collected information and links where you can read more.

Medication

  • Continue to take your medication as usual.

  • Immunosuppressive drugs are the treatment for rheumatic disease. When, or if, you as a patient stop taking these medicines, you may have a relapse.

  • If you have no signs of infection, continue your anti-rheumatic treatment.

If you get signs of a respiratory infection or cold

  • If you are not seriously ill, stay at home and avoid spreading the infection.

  • If you are seriously ill with fever and cough or difficulty breathing, contact 1177 for advice.

  • If you have questions about your illness or treatment, contact your health care providers.

To protect yourself and others:

  • Stay home and avoid social contact, even if you only have mild symptoms of respiratory infection. This applies to both your working life and private life.

  • Wash your hands often, for at least 20 seconds.

  • Cough and sneeze into your armpit.

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.

  • Use rubbing alcohol if you do not have access to soap and water.
